Moin, Moin Hamburg!
We had the opportunity to see the production and processing of dried fruits. Worlée can cut dried fruits down to 3mm size on two produciton lines and produces on request on a two- or three-shift model.
The external storehouse is located close to Worlées main building and stores on three floors food products from all over the world. During our tour we were accompanied by many different odours – from extraordinary spice mixes to garlic and onions and lastly very intense citrus fruits. Odour emissions are a big challenge for warehousing and the different areas are strictly seperated to avoid any risk of emission.
Worlées warehouse provides quite a high flexibility to Varistor, which also gives advantages for our customers.
We could also see the Worlées own decontamination system which above all treats herbs, vegetable and mushrooms. Critical products will be placed for a short time in steam (80-120°C) and vaccuum (depending on product 30 sec to 2min) to reduce risk of germs and guarantee longer shelf life. Therewith the products are treated gentle, but with necessary precaution.
The tour along the harbour of Hamburg, with its huge container vessels and never ending amount of containers was one of the highlights of our visit.
Below some impressions of our visit.
